Magazine Production Coordinator
The Washington Post Magazine seeks a skilled Mac user to join its copy and
production desk two days a week. The responsibilities of the production
coordinator will include creating InDesign documents and templates;
inputting editorial changes; tracking the flow of prepress materials;
preparing graphics and InDesign files for final printing; and reviewing
digital bluelines using an Internet-based application. This 16-hour
position requires working Thursdays and Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
However, seasonal and weekly production demands will necessitate
flexibility in scheduling.
The production coordinator must possess strong organizational skills and
the ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and an
external printer. Applicants must be proficient in using Adobe InDesign,
Photoshop and Acrobat Professional, and demonstrate facility in learning
new software applications. Experience with four-color printing and a PDF
workflow is desirable
