Why join AASFE?
For more than 50 years, the AASFE has been the vital link between newspaper features and Sunday-section editors.
It is the forum where forward-thinking editors introduce, debate and
spread ideas and improvements in features that strengthens our
sections. If an innovation in features has caught your eye, chances are
it has been discussed in an AASFE workshop or publication. Your
membership brings you:
- Style, our magazine showcasing the best in features work
- Writing and editing workshops, including an annual writing contest and convention: three days of programs and networking.
- A fellowship program aimed at developing minority features journalists who will add to the diversity of your features staff.
- Access to an international network of features and Sunday editors,
at newspapers large and small, to whom you can turn to for information
and advice.
- Subscriptions to Presstime, the Newspaper Association of America's industry magazine.
Associate (Non-voting) Memberships exist for those with a special
interest in features journalism and former features editors now engaged
in an occupation other than journalism. This includes, but is not
limited to online editors at non-newspaper sites, senior reporters,and
other newspaper section editors. Associate memberships are also
available for journalism educators, students and journalism retirees.
