She worked as a reporter four years at the Arizona Tribune newspapers in Phoenix, two years writing and editing media trade newsletters for a publishing company in Berkeley, Calif., and two years as a copy editor and backup slot on the San Jose Mercury News metro and features desks. Carolyn has been a copy editor & backup slot for four years for the features sections of the LA Times. She lives in Pasadena with her husband, LA Times assistant sports editor Alex Kimball, and sons Luke, 2 years old, and Rafe, just born at the end of July.
